to another.
From one bridezilla,
My husband and I chose to get married in our backyard. It suited us both perfectly: he got to stay home (his favorite) and I got do whatever I wanted (my favorite)! The creative possibilites seemed endless. I knew I could fulfill my dreams on a blank canvas, but to do so while remaining within our budget would require a ton of DIY work. I spent my days preparing the property and nights planning logistics or crafting DIY signage. And while we somehow pulled it off in the end, there were a lot of difficulties along the way I didn’t expect to face. I didn’t anticipate every decision feeling like the weight of the world, or the overwhelming pressure to make everyone feel special, or the guilt that comes with having your family work tirelessly to create your vision. It was all very confusing and difficult to navigate.
Through it all I felt a void. Where was the guidance for DIY brides like me? The industry seemed to offer two choices: a full-blown planner or a last-minute coordinator. There were moments I craved reassurance or just a helpful ear that wasn’t already sick of hearing me talk about my wedding.
Enter BRIDEZILLA. Not just a cheeky name, but a mission. A mission to bridge the gap between DIY and planner, to help design beautiful aesthetics for DIY brides, and to be there when things are harder than you imagined they would be. And above all, a statement: because following your dreams on what is supposed to be the biggest day of your life doesn’t make you a villain. Putting time, money, and effort into something and being upset when it doesn’t go right doesn’t make you high maintenance. And hoping that everything is perfect for a once in a lifetime moment doesn’t make you a diva.
